Mining
OUR MINING HISTORY
& NEW ADVENTUES
Our company has mined underground at Potch Point in Lightning Ridge since 1972. We
have also operated large open cut mines at Canada’s and Hearts and Spicers in Lightning
Ridge area searching for the elusive black opal. Our new mining adventure near Opalton
in outback Queensland has started in June 2022.
OUR NEW 36 TONS EXCAVATOR IS BEING DELIVERED TO OPALTON MINING SITE
OUR OPALTON MINING SITE
We purchased this claim recently. In the past five years, good quality boulder opal has been mined out of this Claim. We are hoping to continue producing good opals with our new mining equipment.

CONTINUE DIGGING TO LOWER LEVEL
WHITE OPAL
On a recent buying trip to White Cliffs, we were lucky
enough to get 30 oz of the finest gem quality rough crystal
white opal from some old mining mates
BLACK OPAL
From there we continued on to Lightning Ridge and got 92
carats of the best pattern gem quality black opals we have
ever seen. Surprisingly, this is very similar to some we had
bought 35 years earlier that are still in our collection
BOULDER OPAL
